PEM file

Also written: .pem, priv.pem, pub.pem

A text file format that stores keys and certificates as base64 between `-----BEGIN ...-----` and `-----END ...-----` lines. For example, `priv.pem` might hold a private key and `pub.pem` the matching public key.
