ping

Also written: ping -c, ping -W, ping -i, ping -q, ping -M do -s

A tool that checks whether an address answers and how long the round trip takes. -c sets the count, -W the wait for each reply, -i the gap between packets and -q prints only a summary. -M do -s tests the MTU.
