Exposure factor
The percentage of an asset's value lost in a single event, written as a decimal and multiplied by the asset value to get the single loss expectancy (SLE). For example, if thieves take a delivery van holding $8,000 of stock and 75% of it is lost, the exposure factor is 0.75 and the SLE is $6,000.
