NMS (network management system)

Also written: NMS, NMSs, network management system

Software, such as Zabbix, LibreNMS or PRTG, that discovers, maps and polls every network device, receives traps, compares readings with baselines and thresholds, and alerts. Because it holds credentials for every device, it is a high-value target.
