Glossary: Physical and Wireless Vectors, and Vulnerabilities

Host addresses (127.0.0.1, 0.0.0.0)

Also written: 0.0.0.0, 127.0.0.1, loopback

Special addresses used when a service listens. 0.0.0.0, as in `ss` output such as 0.0.0.0:23, means 'every network address the machine has', so the whole network can reach the service; 127.0.0.1 (loopback) means only the machine itself can reach it.
