Glossary: System Design Basics in Rust

Read-heavy / write-heavy

Also written: read-heavy, write-heavy, read/write ratio

A read-heavy system is read far more often than it's changed, like the shop at about 100 reads per write. A write-heavy one, such as click logging, is the reverse, and the ratio tells you which side to scale first.
