crypto.createHash

Also written: node:crypto, createHash, createHmac, MD5, SHA-256

A function in Node's built-in `node:crypto` module that creates a hash (and, with its sibling `createHmac`, keyed HMACs) from data. MD5 spreads values evenly but is too weak for security, so it suits uses like ring positions, while SHA-256 is a secure hash suited to HMAC signatures and content hashes.
