Glossary: System Design Beyond the Basics in Rust

FNV-1a

Also written: FNV

A simple hash that XORs in each byte and then multiplies by a prime. It is stable and easy to write by hand, which makes it good for teaching and hash rings, but it is not a cryptographic hash and is not suitable for security.
